Foreword - Life is about learning and experiencing!  Turn off the television and spend some quality time with family, friends or a good book.  Here are a few recommendations below (sorry - you'll have to pick your own friends!).

Conscious Eating by Gabriel Cousens
Not for the faint of heart.  This is a serious book on complete lifestyle modification.  See

Cure the Incurable by Mikhail Tombak
A unique look at health from a more Russian/Eastern tradition - not for everyone.

Eight Weeks to Optimal Health (Revised edition) by Andrew Weil
A clear cut path to changing your life's patterns from eating to exercise!

Fit for Life II by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond
A good primer to moving towards a healthier diet.  Note the information on food combining.

Healing with Whole Foods: Asian Traditions and Modern Nutrition by Paul Pitchford
The bible of living consciously.

Healthy Aging: A Lifelong Guide to Your Well-Being by Andrew Weil
An amazing guide for those Boomers and older who want to live life to the fullest!

Juice fasting and Detoxification by Steve Meyerowitz
There are many books about juice fasting but I found this one easy to follow and very thorough


Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals by Michael Pollan
This book will change how you view see what you consume.  The section on corn is worth the price of the book alone.  If you loved Fast Food Nation, you'll love this book too.  A MUST read.

 

 

Body

Body for Life: 12 Weeks to Mental and Physical Strength by Bill Phillips
Want a guide to a better physical body, this is a good beginning.  I'm not sure I'd recommend the dietary information. 

Body of Life for Women: A Woman's Plan for Physical and Mental
Transformation by Pam Peeke
I must admit that I haven't read this book but wanted to include it for women who wanted a book tailored more for them. 

Dr. Bob Arnot's Guide to Turning Back the Clock by Robert Arnot
Another good book regarding building a better body.  The information on stretching techniques is quite good.  Again, I'm not sure I'd recommend the dietary information.  This one is a bit old - better books may now exist.

Yoga Instruction by Yoga Online
This website offers great instructional video vignettes and details.

 

Mind/Spirit

Ask and It is Given: Learning to Manifest Your desires by Esther and Jerry Hicks

One of the best books about living with Intention


Everyday Grace by Marianne Williamson
One of my favorites. Most any of M. Williamson's books are excellent reads.


Minding the Body, Mending the Mind by Joan Borysenko, Ph.D.
Excellent book on using the mind to heal and more, plus a good resource for those wanting to start meditation.


The Power of Intention by Wayne W. Dyer
An excellent book.  Be prepared to be transformed.

The Wisdom of Florence Scovel Shinn by Florence Scovel Schinn
This book contains four of her complete boks: The Game of Life (my favorite), The Power of the Spoken Word, Your Word is your Wand and The Secret of Success.

A Whole New Mind: Moving from the Information Age to the Conceptual Age by Daniel H. Pink
Wonderful Book on moving your thinking from Left brain to Right Brain.  Great Resource.

The Four Agreements by Miguel Ruiz
Simple yet powerful

Male Health

Men in midlife Crisis by Jim Conway

A bit heavy on the Christian side by a good resource just the same.
